Liquid have got off to a good start at EPICENTER, beating Swole Patrol with ease in Group B's opening match (2-0; Nuke 16-5, Inferno 16-5). Swole Patrol chose Nuke to start off the series and got off to a lead once they grabbed the pistol round as Terrorists. However, Liquid replied with successful aggression in yard in the second-round forcebuy, shifting the momentum in their favor. Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir's side could not penetrate Liquid's great defense until they were down 1-7, when the two teams started going back and forth with Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro stepping up to the plate with two doubles, and Swole Patrol secured five rounds on the offense, after all. ![]() Upon switching sides, the map was back firmly in the hands of Liquid, who claimed the second pistol round and ran away with the next five to secure the opening map at 16-5. Swole Patrol could not find a footing on Inferno, either, as Liquid swept their opponents with a six-round streak to start things off as Terrorists. Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado and Braxton "swag" Pierce combined for five to put one round on the board for the underdogs, but they got reset immediately after. Even though Austin "Cooper" Abadir's squad won the next forcebuy, Liquid reset them once more and this time survived the next couple rounds up against low buys, which allowed them to grab 13 rounds in the first half. With a pistol round in the bag as well, Liquid extended their lead to 15-2 and, despite Swole Patrol managing a response, the favorites closed it out quickly at 16-5.
